current in 1st resistor = current in 2nd resistor

6/R= 12/6

R= 3 ohm

Total resistance = 3+6

= 9 ohm

Total V. = 12+6

= 18 V

I. = V/R

= 18/9

= 2 A

Therefore value of R in 1st resistor = 3 ohm

reading of ammeter = 2A
