we have the equation of pos. so we can find displacement

     >initial position at t = 1

s = 2(1) + 3

s = 5

     >final position at t = 3

s = 2(3) + 3

s = 9

∴Distance = final position - initial position = 9 - 5

                         = 4

and time = 2 sec.

∴speed = distance / time = 4 / 2 = 2
