The characteristics of magnetic field lines are as follows :-

(i) They are closed continuous curves

(ii) They behave like stretched elastic rubber strings

(iii) They contract laterally

(iv) They do not intersect one another because in that case there would be two directions of resultant magnetic force at a given point, which is not possible.

(v) They are directed from north to south pole outside the magnet and south to north pole within the magnet.

MrNerd: please mark brainliest as promised
MrNerd: i need that brainliest for promotion to expert
MrNerd: thanks!

#Magnetic field lines emerge from north and merge from south.
#Inside the magnet field lines emerge from south and merge from north.
#Strength of magnet field is based on the magnet field line.
#Magnetic field lines never intersect each other.
#It is always closed curve.
