1/under root 2 is irrational

Let's assume it as rational

So, 1/under root 2 can be written as a/b

Where a and b are co-prime (also b is not equal to 0)

Hence 1/under root 2 =a/b

Then b/a=under root 2 ((b/a is a rational number) but( underroot 2 is irrational))

Since rational and irrational numbers cannot be equal, therefore the assumption is proved wrong.

Hence 1/underroot 2 is an irrational number.
