Answer:

( a )

Given that ;

Radius of the Quarter Circle = 3.5m

Area of the Shaded Region = ?

Formula :

Area of the Quarter Circle ( A ) = π r² / 4

= 3.14 × 3.5 × 3.5 / 4

A = 9.61625 m²

Hence ;

Area of the Shaded Region ( A ) = 9.61625 m²

( b )

Given that ;

Diameter of the Semi Circle ( d ) = 7m

Radius of the Semi Circle ( r ) = d / 2

= 7 / 2

= 3.5m

Area of the Shaded Region = ?

Formula :

Area of the Semi Circle ( A ) = π r² / 2

A = 3.14 × 3.5 × 3.5 / 2

A = 19.2325 m²

Hence ;

Area of the Shaded Region = 19.2325 m²
