I WILL MARK YOU BRAINLIEST FOR A QUICK AND GOOD ANSWER

What is the net IONIC equation for the reaction between calcium carbonate and hydochloric acid to give carbon dioxide, water and calcium chloride?

I know already that the MOLECULAR equation is CaCO3 + 2HCl > CO2 + H2O + CaCl2

Please explain how you got your answer... thank you

hey dear,

When hydrochloric acid reacts with any carbonates or hydrogen carbonates the products formed are metal chloride, water and carbon dioxide. Since HCl decomposes salts of weaker acids, this is double decomposition reaction.
CaCO3 + 2HCl > CO2 + H2O + CaCl2
hope it helps u

13ssuri: Thank you for the answer, but what is the IONIC equation?
