When I used to go to college, I would come across a beggar every day at the Bus Stop. This beggar would beg for money from almost everyone and would even cry, but he did not look like a beggar.
He was young, well dressed, hair well combed and he was very soft spoken. It always intrigued me.

One day, I finally confronted him. On the way to college, I shook his hand and took him aside and asked him why he was begging for money and that he looked like a kid from a good household.

He start to avoid eye contact and said I should leave. I thought he felt shy and persisted on why he was begging for money and if there is something I can help him with.

Finally, he started crying and admitted that he did belong to a very good family and that he recently finished his studies from England.
However, he was madly in love with a girl and wanted to buy her an iPhone. His parents were not giving him money and he was begging to collect enough cash.

I started laughing... but also got angry. I could not believe this young, smart, well-educated kid was so foolish as to beg for money for his girlfriend.

I gave him a long lecture on how he should see the big picture in life and forget doing something which will not only embarrass his family but also haunt him for the rest of his life.
