Answer:

A)

Balanced chemical equation for photosynthesis :-

6CO₂ + 6H₂O -------------> C₆H₁₂O₆ + 6O₂

B)

Desert plants take up Carbon Dioxide at night time to perform photosynthesis.

Desert plants have such mechanism to prevent water loss. As, during daytime, if they ope their stomata to take in CO₂ , more water will be lost through transpiration. These plants' cells have an enzyme that is able to synthesize Carbon Dioxide at night time so that they can close their stomata during day time and open it when temperature goes down.

Answer:

(i) Balanced chemical equation for the process of photosynthesis is:

6CO2 + 6H2O → C6H12O6 + 6O2 + 6H2O

(ii) In desert plants the stomata are open at night. They take CO2 at night and is stored in the form of acid and is used during day time for photosynthesis.
