(a) If 1 metre cloth costs Rs x , then what is the cocst of 6 metre cloth ?

(b) If the cost of a notebook is Rs. X and the cost of a book is Rs. Y, then what is the cost of 5 notebooks and 2 books ?

(c ) The score of Ragini in Mathematics is 23 more than two-third of her score in English. If she scores ‘x’ marks is English, what is her score in Mathematics ?

(d) If the length of a side of a regular pentagon is ‘x’ cm, then what is the perimeter of the pentagon ?

(e) The sides of a square is taken as ‘b’. Find the perimeter and area of square in terms of ‘b’

(f) The sides of a regular decagon is denoted as ‘r’. Express the perimeter in terms of ‘r’ (Decagon is a regular polygon having 10 equal sides )

(g) The two equal sides of an isosceles triangle are taken as ‘y’cm and unequal side is taken as ‘x’cm. Find its perimeter in terms of x and y.
(h) Dice is a cube, it has six faces and all of them are identical squares. If the length of each edge of a cube is taken as ‘a’, find the formula for the total length of the edges of a cube. (Remember that a cube has 12 edges )

(i) The diameter of a circle joins two points on the circle and it passes through the centre of the circle. If ‘r’ is the radius of the circle, then express diameter of a circle in terms of its radius.

II Pick the solution from the values given in the bracket next to the equation . Show that the other values do not satisfy the equation .

(a) x + 7 = 3 ( 3, 4. -4, -7 )

(b) 3y – 2 = 16 ( 3, 6, 9, 2 )

Answer:

ANSWER

Given,

Cost of 1 notebook =Rs x

Cost of 1 book =Rs y

Thus,

Cost of 5 notebooks =5×(Rs x)=Rs 5x

Cost of 2 books =(Rs y)×2=Rs 2y

Hence, Total cost of 5 notebooks and 2 books =Rs (5x+2y)
