  • CO2 + H2O + light -> O2 + C6H12O6

(ii) Chlorophyll is the green pigment that is present in most plants and algae. This pigment is essential for the process of photosynthesis to occur, wherein, it allows the plants to absorb energy from sunlight. The light that is absorbed by the chlorophyll is mostly the blue and red light of the electromagnetic spectrum.
