1. Zn has completely filled d-orbitals, hence it cannot from metallic bonds while Cr has half filled
d-orbitals can from metallic bonds. Since metallic bonds make a metal hard , Cr is hard and Zn is soft.
2. Here the outermost shell is half filled which make Eu+3 highly stable . Therefore , Eu+2 oxidises readily to give more stable Eu+3 and acts as a strong reducing agent
