\huge\underline\blue{Solution!!...}

Let the amount the man initially had be x...

When he reached the first temple, the money doubled...

So, the amount now is 2x...

He donates 100...

So, balance amount = 2x – 100

This again doubles at 2nd temple...

So, he has 2 (2x - 100) => 4x – 200

He gives 100...

So, he has 4x – 200 – 100 = 4x – 300

\green{\underline\textbf{Same process at Temple 3....}}

It doubles and he has 2(4x - 300) = 8x – 600

He gives 100...

So, he has 8x – 700

\green{\underline\textbf{Again doubling at Temple 4...}}

Thus, he has 2(8x - 700) = 16x – 1400

He gives 100 and has nothing. Thus 16x – 1400 – 100 = 0

  • => 16x – 1500 = 0

  • => 16x = 1500

\red{\underline\textbf{therefore...}}

  • x = 1500/16

  • = 93.75

Thus, he started from home with Rs.93.75...

He initially had 93.75 rupees with him.

Initially, let us say, he had 'x' rupees.

He visited 4 temples overall.

Before visiting every temple, his money got doubled. In every temple, he offered 100 rupees.

At first temple:

The money got doubled = 2x

He offered 100 from the money he had = 2x - 100

At second temple:

Again, the money got doubled = 2(2x-100) = 4x - 200

Offered 100 at second temple = 4x - 200 - 100 = 4x - 300

At third temple:

The money got doubled = 2(4x-300) = 8x - 600

He offered 100 from the money he has = 8x - 600 - 100 = 8x - 700

At fourth temple:

Again, the money got doubled = 2(8x-700) = 16x - 1400

Offered 100 at fourth temple = 16x - 1400 - 100 = 16x - 1500

It is said that, after offering at fourth temple, he has no money left with him.

So, the equation becomes   16x - 1500 = 0

                                               16x = 1500

                                                x = 1500/16

                                                x = 93.75

Therefore, he initially had 93.75 rupees with him.
