(I) a blanket is an insulator. It traps the heat our bodies make thus keeping us warm. Ice does not make any heat, so the blanket has nothing to trap, infact it is insulating the ice from the warmer air around it.
(ii) This because on cloudy winter nights air is trapped between the clouds which act as insulator which provides us warm and on clear sky winter nights there is no medium to trap air. Hence we feel less warm and more cold.
(iii) Evaporation is a slow process. It takes place from the surface of the liquid. It takes place at all temperatures
Boiling is a fast process. It takes place from all parts of the liquid. It takes place at a fixed temperature.
