Ice and water are different states of the same matter.
Ice:- 1. Tightly packed molecules
2. Lesser latent heat or rather more latent coolness
3. Fixed shape, volume
Water:- 1. Loosely packed molecules as compared to ice
2. More latent heat
3. Fixed volume but no fixed shape.
