Ice cream appears colder to the mouth than water at 0°C. Give reason. Give you r answer in terms of latent heat.​

Ice cream appears more cooler to the mouth than the water at zero degrees Celsius because ice cream absorbs latent heat as well as the heat energy in order to attain room temperature. Water at zero degrees Celsius absorbs only heat energy only to attain the room temperature. Thus, water absorbs less amount of energy from the mouth as compared to ice cream.

Ice cream appears colder to mouth than water at 0°C because it can extract approximately 80 cal/g (latent heat of fusion of ice)more heat from as compared to water at 0°C.
