Ice is believed to be denser than water then why does it floats on water?

solid is believed to be denser than liquid.

So ice a solid must be denser than water and has to sink in water but it floats because the ice is 0.9% less denser than water so it floats on the water and the arrangement of water molecules in ice are also the reason for floatation of ice.

Ice is less denser than water because of the orientation of hydrogen bonds causes molecules to push farther apart,which lowers the density
