this is bcoz some of the heat is used to change temperature of ice and is known as latent heat!!!

Ice melts by absorbing heat but still the temperature remains the same because the extra heat gets used up in breaking free the force of attraction between the particles ice.This energy is said to be hidden in the content of ice and thus is referred to latent heat of fusion.
