when the speaker reaches the shambles gate it is raining and whoever has a mind is flinging rocks at him as he can feel his forehead bleeding. His hands are tied behind with a rope which cuts both his wrists. This is a punishment for his past years misdeeds which he feels was just a misunderstanding between him and the public

The patriot was taken to the gallows for some so called misdeeds people think he had done . When he was taken to the shambles gate it was raining and the patriot's hands were tied with rope so tightly that it cutted his wrists of both the hands . His forehead was bleeding because people were throwing stones at him mercilessly . Within a year those people changed . A year past they worshipped him and now they were going to the shambles gate to have the best view of his execution .
