given:

A)

vapour density of methane is 8

ans: 2* vapour density = molecular weight

        2*8=16gm

  At STP a gas of 1 mole occupies 22.4lit of volume

so 16 gm of methane occupies 22.4lits {weight -volume relation}

then 40gm will ocuupy ________?

by cross mutiplying we get 56L

∴The volume occupied by 40gm of methane at STP is 56L

B) Number of moles= Wt/ Molecular weight

=160gm/40g

= 4mole

∴ The number of moles present in 160gm of NaOH is 4 moles
