8. Find the values of x and y when 5x + 3y 2x - y 7​

Rearranging 2x+y=−4

−5x+3y=−1

By using elimination method

3(2x+y)=−4×3

−5x+3y=−1

⇒ 6x+3y=−12

−5x+3y=−1

---------------------- → sign reverses for subtraction

x=−11

⇒ y−4−2x=0;y=18
