Answer: Parenchyma cells are living whereas sclerenchyma cells are dead. Parenchyma cells retain their power of division whereas sclerenchyma cells cannot divide. Parenchyma cell walls are thin whereas the cell walls of sclerenchyma cells are highly lignified and hence thick.
