New Delhi -
It was ten square miles unwalled city constructed on raisins hill south of shahjahnabad
The city has broad and straight streets
The city had sprawling mansions set in the middle of large compounds
Shahjahnabad -
It was constructed as the walled cities with 14 gates. adjoining the fort place complex with river Jamuna adjoining it
There were mazes of narrow and winding lanes and by lanes
The city had crowded and consisted mohallas and havelis

The three differences in the city design of New Delhi and shahjahanabad are following :-

1. Shahjahanabad was a walled city but this was not the case with New Delhi.

2. Shahjahanabad had crowded Mohallas and mazes of narrow by lanes. These was not found in New Delhi . These were broad straight streets lined with sprawling mansions set in the middle of the large compounds.

3. New Delhi had better water supply , sewage disposal and drainage facility. It had trees and parks in ensuring fresh air and adequate supply of oxygen. But these was not found in Shahjahanabad.
