Identify a probable reason that the dark moths survived while the light moths did not.

Due to pollution of industries, barks of trees becommes dark & black due to carbon deposition and Dark (black) moths hides on these tree barks but light (white) moths can not hide hence captured by predators.

Hence the dark moths survived while the light moths did not.
