Identify and classify the following types of motions as
rotatory, vibratory, oscillatory, rectilinear, curvilinear, or random motion:
Answers
Answer:
ROTATORY MOTION
In simple terms, rotatory motion can be defined as the movement of any object about an axis. A common examples of rotatory motion can be the fans of the helicopter moving about a pivot. Another example could be or the movement of a merry go round.
VIBRATORY MOTION
A body moves to and fro about its mean position is called vibratory motion. Vibratory motion can be described as any object moving/swinging back and forth, moving up and down, pulsating, spinning, or vibrating. ... Simple Harmonic Motion is categorized by Vibratory motion.
OSCILLATORY MOTION
Oscillatory motion can be termed as the repeated motion in which an object repeats the same movement over and over. In the absence of friction, the oscillatory motion would continue forever; but in the real world, the system eventually settles into equilibrium. Oscillatory motion can be found throughout the physical world in different cases from the uranium nucleus oscillation before it fissions to the carbon dioxide molecules oscillating in the universe, absorbing and contributing to global warming. Building and bridges undergoes oscillatory motion, sometimes with disastrous results. Even stars oscillates. Waves- from sound to ocean waves to seismic waves in the solid earth- ultimately involve oscillatory motion.
RECTILINEAR MOTION
Rectilinear motion is another name for straight-line motion. This type of motion describes the movement of a particle or a body. A body is said to experience rectilinear motion if any two particles of the body travel the same distance along two parallel straight lines.
CURVILINEAR MOTION
Curvilinear motion is defined as motion that occurs when a particle travels along a curved path. The curved path can be in two dimensions (in a plane), or in three dimensions. This type of motion is more complex than rectilinear (straight-line) motion
RANDOM MOTION
Random Motion is a motion in which an object didn't go in a straight manner, the object move in a zig zag manner. This is called Random Motion.
