Following are the  measures adopted by Delhi rulers/kings to maintain comfortable temperatures in their monuments/forts or keep them cool:
1.In the ancient times, there were no coolers or AC's but still the historical place remained cool.
2.The surroundings of the place were planted with more trees so that temperature remains cool and quality of air improves.
3.The water bodies were added to monuments like adding Fountain in the place ,as they sprinkle the water droplets in the air and makes the rate of evaporation faster to keep surroundings cool.
4.Thick walls of low thermal conductivity  materials were used to have very low transmittance value of heat and larger time gap
5. Historical monuments have vaulted and domnical roofs which provides greater surface area which enables the heat to transmit slowly to the interior places
