Due to the absence of fans and Air conditioners that provide great comfort to us in the modern days there was a great difficulty to get comfortable at extreme temperatures.
For getting rid of heat royal baths were built in the palace for the king and the queens to get a cool dip.
Also the palaces were built at places with accordance to the weather at the place.
For getting rid of heat the royals also had servants to fan them in their service.
For severe winters as for kings of Europe the dressing style changed with accordance to the season and they wore fur coats and jackets and dresses to comfort themselves in excessive cold.
Hope I helped
