Given :-

(2x - 2)(2x + 2)

To Find :-

Establish the identity

Ist Method :-

We know that,

(a + b)(a - b) = a² - b²

Also, the given expression is in the format

(a + b)(a - b) = a² - b²

=> a = 2x

& b = 2

On inserting the values in the formula

We get ,

(a + b)(a - b) = a² - b²

= (2x - 2)(2x + 2)

= (2x)² - (2)²

= 4x² - 4

2nd Method :-

By simple multiplication,

(2x - 2)(2x + 2)

= (2x × 2x) + (2 × 2x) - (2 × 2x) - (2 × 2)

= 4x² + 4x - 4x - 4

(+4x & -4x gets cancelled off)

= 4x² - 4

Required answer = 4x² - 4
