Cation are elements that are positively charged and have free ions that from bonds with free electrons from anion.

Anion are elements that are negatively charged and are having electrons which form a metallic bond with cation.

Calcium is the Cation.

While Carbon element is the anion .

The metallic bond i the strongest bond formed between cation and anion .

It has got several application in the field of industrial chemistry.

ONE CATION AND ANION FROM THE GIVEN SALT CaCo3 are Calcium and Carbonate ions respectively.

The given salt is CaCO₃. Its chemical name is Calcium Carbonate.

So, from the name itself we can understand that the compound is made from two ions - Calcium ion and Carbonate ion.

Positively charged ions are known as cations.

Negatively charged ions are known as anions.

Calcium ion (Ca²⁺) is an example of cation and

Carbonate ion (CO₃²⁻) is an example of anion.
