1) Erosion of Soil - building of dams is problematic for the land around it. Wherever the dams are constructed, the major problem that occurs is that of soil erosion around that area.

2) Change in natural flow of river - building dams obviously restricts the natural flow of river, which itself creates many problems regarding the temperature, physical and chemical composition of water, etc.

3) Migration of aquatic animals - building dams also causes a problem in the habitat and natural living of the aquatic animals. These work as a barrier to the aquatic animals in their migration from one place to another.
