hi there,,
A constitution is called rigid if the process of amendment is complex and needs such voting system which is difficult to achieve. Simply put it is difficult to pass the law. Even if there is a special provision for the amendment of the constitution it might not be rigid. It depends on the process contained in that special provision....

Regarding general law I will say that they are very flexible in the legal sense. As parliament has to just pass ordinary law for them. The social constraints in amending such laws are massive.

Some laws are extremely flexible like the local laws of districts. All rules, by-laws etc. are also highly flexible. These words also come under the generic word law. They do not require even legislation. Simple executive orders are enough to amend such laws...

The Indian Constitution can be amended in various ways. One of the process of amendment is a rigid one. The amendment in this article is done by the 2/3rd majority. In India, where the country is so politically divided, it is rather very difficult to bring about an 2/3rd majority. Hence the constitutions in such a framework seems to be rather rigid.
But not every part of the constitution is amended through constitutional amendment under Article 368.Certain ordinary laws can be easily amended (such as the local laws of the district), hence, making the constitution highly flexible.

Hope it helps.
