There are two major obstacles to solving a problem. These are mental set and lack of motivation.

Mental set is a tendency of a person to solve problems by following already tried mental operations or steps.

Hey mate;

your answer is.........

Obstacles for problem solving;

There are a number of different obstacles that can interfere with our ability to solve a problem quickly and efficiently. Researchers have described a number of these mental obstacles, which include functional fixedness, irrelevant information, and assumptions.

  • Reinforce a positive outlook
  • Ask questions to understand the problem
  • Look down on a problem.
  • Define the problem completely.
  • Think logically
  • Take notes and record your progress

Tips;

1.Take time to identify the possible sources of the problem. It’s better to spend a substantial amount of time on something right, than on something completely opposite.

2.Ask yourself questions like What, Why, How to figure out the causes of the problem. Only then can you move forward on solving it.

3.Carefully outline the methods to tackle the problem. There might be different solutions to a problem, record them all.

4.Gather all information about the problem and the approaches. More, the merrier.

5.From the outlined methods, choose the ones that are viable to approach. Try discarding the ones that have unseen consequences.

6.Track your progress as you go.

7.Evaluate the outcome of the progress.
