In rural areas still solar energy is not a viable option at individual level as well corporate level. So It will need and out of box thinking.
1) Solar energy equipment's carry lot of complex accessories which is very difficult for a common man to understand. So it makes difficult situation for him to get convinced and adopt (PV module, Charge controller, Battery and so on).
2) Because of this complexity they don't know how it will get corrected when the system breaks down because of some fault.
3) The upfront cost. To overcome this an EMI kind of mechanism should be brought in place at minimum interest.
4) Solar energy devices are not popular because energy storage mechanism is very uneconomical and portability is highly compromised (lead acid battery is used as energy storage device). Because of this it does not give the feeling to energy security to the users when compared to one gallon of gasoline gives when it is with users. because with one gallon of gasoline they can do calculation on amount work that can be achieved out of it.
5) Still material science research needs to go at next level where we can hold the electrical charge in a portable device with controlled discharging mechanism with more than 3000 charging cycle (like what we are doing in case of LPG cylinders). This will break the dependency because effective storage will be in place.
