- Simple. The sentence does not contain any conjunction and consists of one independent clause and makes complete sense.

- Complex. All complex sentence consists of subordinating conjunctions such as if, untill, although, etc. And the sentence before the comma is an dependent clause. ( Complex sentence consists of one independent and at least one dependent clause. )

- Compound. The sentence has two independent clauses which are "We went to a rocky beach" and " saw the spread of the ocean." The sentence is connected with subordinating conjunction 'and'

- Simple. The sentence doesn't consist of any conjunction and makes complete sense on it's on. And only has one independent clause.

- Compound. The sentence consists of a coordinating conjunction ' but ' which is a clear indication that it is a complex sentence. It also has two independent clause.

- Simple. Here in this sentence, even though there is a coordinating conjunction it is simple as simple sentences can also have compound subject and compound verb.

- Simple. No conjunction is used and makes complete thought on it's on and has only one independent clause.

- Compound. But is a coordinating conjunction and the given sentence consists of two independent clause.
