SODIUM CARBONATE IS BASIC IN NATURE COZ IT IS MADE UP BY THE REACTION OF A STRONG BASE NaOH AND WEAK ACID CARBONIC ACID.THUS SODIUM CARBONATE IS ALKALINE. Iron chloride is acidic because it is formed by the reaction of a weak base and a strong acid HCl.
