The Conversion Of Milk Into Curd Is A Chemical Change.

  • A Chemical Change is a permanent change in which an entirely new substance is formed with different properties. It is a permanent and irreversible change in which the original substance loses its own composition and properties. It is not merely a change of state, but the composition of the substance also changes. A chemical change cannot be reversed and is always accompanied by heat, light or electricity.

  • A chemical change cannot be reversed to get the original substance:- Curd from milk is a chemical change because curd tastes different from milk as its composition gets changed and a new substance that is curd is formed and it cannot be converted back into milk.

  • Whereas, melting of ice is a physical change because it can be reversed by freezing the ice and there is no change in its composition.
