The compound of sodium= NaHCO3 or baking soda or sodium bicarbonate

it makes food soft as it reacts and liberates carbon dioxide

NaHCO3 is a basic salt and formed in the following way:

NaCl + H2O + CO2---->NaHCO3 +NH4Cl

sodium chloride reacts with hydrogen and carbon dioxide to give so sodium bicarbonate and ammonium chloride

Uses of baking soda other than cooking—————————--------------------------------------

>it is used soda acid fire extinguisher

>it is used as antacid as it has basic properties

hope this helps you!
