e basic reason why the planets revolve around, or orbit, theSun, is that the gravity of the Sunkeeps them in their orbits. Just as the Moon orbits the Earth because of the pull of Earth's gravity, the Earth orbits the Sun because of the pull of theSun's gravity.

According to universal law of gravitation every body in the universe attract every other body with the force which is directly proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. The earth is revolving around sun beacause of it.
