Teichoic acid is  the component of gram positive bacteria’s cell wall. Its function is to maintain flexibility of the cell wall with the help of potassium and calcium cations.

Lipopolysaccharide is only present in the cell wall of gram negative bacteria. It is a molecule made up of polysaccharide and  lipid component.

In gram positive bacteria about 30% to 70% of peptidoglycan is present in the cell wall. Its function is to protect or strengthen the cells of bacteria from outer environment  tension and rigidity.

Cell wall of gram positive bacteria is single layered which can also be termed as monoderm. It also consists of 30 layers of peptidoglycan resulting in a thick cell wall.
