Koalas are sometimes called koala bears although they are not really bears. The word 'koala' is an Aboriginal word that means 'one who does not drink'. Koalas drink very little water but they eat eucalyptus
leaves, which contain water. As a result of deforestation and disease, koalas are not seen as
