Main products are:

1) CO₂ and H₂O

2) Propene

3) Cis-propene

4) Acetone

1) The first reaction is known as combustion reaction.

Hydrocarbons like propane on heating in the presence of oxygen produces carbon dioxide gas (CO₂) and water vapour (H₂O).

C₃H₈ +5 O₂ → 3CO₂ + 4H₂O

2) When isoprpyl alcohol is reacted in presence of 60% H₂SO₄ at 375 K, one mole of water molecule eliminates from the isopropanol thereby forming an alkene (propene).

CH₃CH(OH)-CH₃ + 60% H₂SO₄ → CH₃CH=CH₂ + H₂O

3) When propyne is reacted with H₂ Pd-C in quinoline, propyne gets reduced to its corresponding alkene in the cis-form.

The product obtained is cis-propene

CH₃C≡CH +  H₂→ CH₃CH=CH₂

4) The reaction of the alkyne (propyne) with water in the presence of 40% H₂SO₄ and in the presence of Hg²⁺ ions solutions, keto-enol tautomerism takes place.

First the unstable enol form is formed which changes to the keto form, acetone (CH₃COCH₃).
