Sacrificial Anodes
- Active metals that too more reactive metals can be used as Sacrificial anodes.
- These metals can protect the outer layer of less reactive metals from the corrosion process.
- That is these metals when placed in tanks or in the pipes, it gets readily corroded there by sacrificing itself and rendering the other parts of the system as corrosion free.
- It is also called as Galvanic anode.
- Zn, Al and Mg can be used as Sacrificial Anodes.
