Microorganisms are those organisms that can't be seen by the naked eyes because they are too small. Microscope is needed to see microorganisms.

Microorganisms are generally classified in 5 groups:
- Bacteria (lactobacillus, escherichia coli.)
- Protozoa (amoeba, plasmodium)
- Fungi (bread mould, mushroom)
- Algae (blue green algae, volvox)

Protozoa:
- They are single-celled microorganisms.
- They don't have cell wall.
- They reproduce by binary fission, budding and spore formation.

- Malaria, dysentery and many diseases are caused by protozoa.

Observation:-
- Absence of a cell wall. Therefore, it is an animal cell.
- Flexible cell membrane.
- Cell having food vacuoles.
- Presence of pseudopodia.
∴ It is ameba.
