A real magnified image and virtual magnified image of an object in front of it is formed by the optical element - (b) A thin converging lens.

Convex lens is also called converging lens while concave lens is also known as divergent lens.

When the object is placed between the centre of curvature and focus of convex lens, then a real and magnified image is obtained. When object is placed in the focal length, then virtual and magnified image is obtained through convex lens.

Diverging lens cannot give magnified image in any case.

The thickness of the mirror or lens is negligible while considering the above cases.
