Identify the oxidant and the reductant in the following reactions :
(a) KMnO4 + KCI + H2SO4 →MnSO4 + K2SO4 + H2O + Cl2

hlo brother here is the answer......first let me define an oxidant, an oxidant is a substance which is oxidised in a rxn and reductant is the substance which is reduced in rxn.....now in above rxn potassium is reductant because it looses oxygen and sulphate is oxidant which accepts oxygen ,oxygen itself gets reduced bcoz of addition of hydrogen in the same way hydrogen is oxidised
