Large intestine is the main part where digestion doesn't take place. it's mainly for absorption.

Digestion starts from mouth (for starch, carbohydrate products) where Salivary glands(maxillary, mandibular and parotid glands) are present.

after mouth when food reaches to stomach which is the main site of digestion with hcl & in small intestine villi are present for increasing surface area for little bit for digestion by intestinal juices and absorption.

Large intestine parts are completely designed for absorption purposes. no digestion take place.
