plants are divided into 2 categories

phanerogams and cryptogams

cryptogams are those which dont have flowers while phanerogams are those which have flowers.

phanerogams constitutes 23 classes and cryptogams consists of only 1 class.

This system of classification was hiven by some pioneers like linnaeus Aristotle and Theophrastus.
