Answer: In equation 1 ,

Reactants are CaO and CO2

Product is CaCO3

In equation 2 ,

Reactants are CH4 and O2

Products are CO2 and H2O

Explanation:

To understand this we first need to know what are reactants and products ,

Reactants are the substances / elements or compounds that react to form a new substance

That new substance formed is the product

Product is generally written on right hand side where as the reactants on left .

The first equation is a decomposition reaction so the right hand side will be considered as products and left side as the reactants

In the second equation the left hand side contains the reactants whereas the opposite side contains products
