when two parallel lines are cut by a transversal then the angles made by the corners are referred As corresponding angles.

that is in this figure is line "a" and "c" are the parrallel lines cut by transversal "d"so

angle 2 ND 10 are corresponding ND also angle 1 ND 9 are corresponding.

one more point should be noted while identify it's not the corner made by lines on the same side. Angles can only be corresponding when two opposite corners are considered.(i.e. angle 9 and 2 are not corresponding angles.
