The reaction between ethene and hydrogen is addition reaction
e.g. Ethene reacts with hydrogen in the presence of a finely divided nickel catalyst at a temperature of about 150° C ethene is produced
CH² = CH² + H² --Ni-----> CH³ --- CH3
This shows that its addition reaction

hello friend,
the reaction occurring b/ w ethene and hydrogen is Addition reaction.
Unsaturated hydrogen carbon add hydrogen in the presence of the catalyst such as palladium or nickel to give saturated hydrocarbons. This reaction is so called Hydrogenation or catalytic reduction.
CH2 = CH2 + H2 = CH4
hope it helps u
