a) Zinc reacts with Silver nitrate to produce zinc nitrate and silver.

An(s) + 2AgNO3 = 2Ag + Zn( NO3)2

In the above reaction Silver is the byproduct and it is the substitution reaction.

b) Potassium iodide reacts with lead nitrate to produce potassium nitrate and lead iodide.

2Kl + pb(NO3)2 = Pbl2 + 2 KNO3

This is a type of precipitation reaction.

When we added potassium iodide to the lead nitrate solution to produce yellow-colored precipitate of lead iodide and potassium nitrate.
